Steph Synoracki

Steph Synoracki is a strategic health communicator and program manager interested in public health initiatives that seek to ensure everyone - no matter their circumstances in life - has the opportunity to lead the healthiest life possible. While Steph's interest in public health stems from a variety of experiences, two in particular stand out: a mission trip to El Salvador and a case study with the CDC as part of Tufts Digital Strategies for Health Communication. This summer, Steph will utilize her communication skills to help ignite a deeper conversation about a new digital divide that may be creating inequalities with digital health technologies among older adults.

Deepali Pachare

Deepali Pachare is Digital Marketing & Business Strategy Enthusiast, recent MBA graduate with a dual degree in International Marketing from Hult International Business School. She studied her undergrad in Business Administration from India. She has around 5 years of experience in the Customer Service in Banking, Hospitality & Telecommunications industries. She is passionate about fitness and creating health fitness awareness amongst other. Deepali wants to support the cause of Recyclehealth and help with business strategy and fundraising.

Ruijia Niu

Ruijia Niu is an MPH student at Tufts University School of Medicine with a concentration in nutrition. Before studying at Tufts, she had three-year experience in community program management for Asian immigrants in a non-profit organization in Vancouver, Canada. This summer, she completed a quantitative research on maternal body composition and breastmilk nutrients during lactation in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. She has an interest in research and intervention development on nutrition in resource-limited countries. She hopes to contribute her data analytical skills and culturally-sensitive communication skills to Recycle Health.

Sim Ahluwalia​

After working in the fitness field for over 8 years, Sim knowsf how important having a well-rounded health program is for overall well-being. Based on a lifetime interest in food and cooking, her focus is on melding the different paradigms of health. After receiving her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, she realized that recovery of the body is crucial to wellness and got her license in massage therapy. She also recently finished a culinary arts certificate program. Now she is integrating all those techniques into her professional work, and is currently a student a Tufts University working towards a Masters degree in Health Communication.

Ravali Mukthineni

Ravali Mukthineni is a rising junior at Tufts University majoring in Community Health. Through the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life, Ravali works with Immigrant Services Providers Group/Health (ISPG/H) to understand more about immigrant health issues in Somerville. This past year she worked on planning a health fair/flu clinic and preparing advocacy materials about a city municipal ID card. Ravali looks forward to learning more about the role of technology in promoting health. This summer she will assist in research about attitudes towards wearable activity trackers and the impact that they have on health.

Olivia Kahn-Boesel

Olivia Kahn-Boesel is a rising sophomore at Tufts University, majoring in Community Health and Biology. At Tufts, Olivia is active in Peer Health Exchange, through which she teaches health workshops to Boston-area high school students and serves on the financial aid advisory board, is a member of Tufts Tap Ensemble, and works in data entry. Olivia hopes to pursue medicine and/or public health upon graduating, and is specifically interested in women’s health. This summer she is excited to assist in research about the integration of wearable trackers into clinical care and to take part in many of the lectures and classes offered at Tufts.

Michael Evans

Michael Evans is currently a student at Tufts University School of Medicine working towards a Masters of Public Health. After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, he completed a Certified Public Accountants (CPA) license from Chartered Accountants Ireland. Afterwards, along with some further studies in the sciences out in San Diego, he realized a desire to work in a public health setting. His passions lie in preventive health, health innovation and population health. He sees mHealth and digital health as the way forward to bringing about better health outcomes. 

Dowon Kim

Dowon Kim is currently an undergrad at Brown University, studying Biochemistry and Philosophy. Recently he has gained an appreciation and interest in the field of Public Health. To further explore this interest this summer, he has learned about the Danish Healthcare system in Copenhagen and will be working with the RecycleHealth team to learn more about the impact of quantification and digital health. In his free time, he loves to break dance, hike, and learn about Computer Science.

Angelie Xiong

Angelie is a rising junior undergraduate at Tufts University majoring in International Relations with a global health concentration, and Psychology. She was born and raised in South China and speaks English, mandarin and Cantonese. She’s interested in marketing and is looking forward to contributing to RecycleHealth by expanding the outreach of the program. In her spare time, Angelie is also a passionate dancer, photographer, traveller, and is always excited to meet new people!

Devon Tate

Devon Tate is a MNSP student at the Tufts University Friedman School. She is passionate about public health, nutrition education, and obesity intervention. She graduated from Goucher College in 2015, with a B.A. in Chemistry and a minor in Studio Art. She is interested in a variety of aspects of RecyleHealth's initiatives and looks forward to being apart of their team. She wears a wearable activity tracker in her everyday life, and is interested in seeing how these devices impact physical activity in different populations. She is an experienced runner having already completed two half marathons, and hopes to one day run a full marathon.

Anna Laurence

A recent graduate from Connecticut College, Anna Laurence holds a B.A. in Psychology. With a background in health promotion through her role as a Health Peer Educator at Connecticut College, Anna will contribute her health education and outreach skills to the work of RecycleHealth. Anna looks forward to learning the role technology plays in promoting healthy behaviors within communities. A member of the cross-country and track team at Connecticut College, Anna continues to run and is currently training for her first half-marathon and has added a wearable activity tracker to her training.

Pilar Botana​

Pilar is an Architectural Designer and Illustrator, passionate about solving problems through design, environmental practices, and beauty.  She is currently exploring the use of visual content in the fields of public health and patient education.  Her goal is to create clear, meaningful, and appealing health visualizations that can easily connect with diverse populations.  She loves how Lisa and her team at RecycleHealth are finding ways to help communities in need through such ecologically sustainable initiative.

John Foley

John Foley is a second year Tufts Medical student. Prior to medical school he worked in HIV/SIV research at the National Institutes of Health and double majored in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Spanish at Vanderbilt University. He is bilingual and volunteers as a patient Interpreter at the Sharewood Clinic, Tufts' student-run clinic for underserved populations. John was awarded a prestigious Tufts Medical School Summer Research Fellowship. He will spend this summer researching attitudes towards wearable trackers and the impact they have on improving patients’ activity levels and general health.

Ian Kwok

Ian Kwok is a third year medical student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and former project manager at a small mHealth startup. He believes that technology is most meaningful when linked to socioeconomic inequality, and that wearables can and should be used as more than a luxury health trend. He loves RecycleHealth's approach to wearables as a social good, and its grassroots community attitude!
