About Us

It started with two simple questions: (1) What if those least likely to buy wearable activity trackers benefited most from their use to improve health and fitness, and (2) Would people who owned wearables that they don't use donate them to help others? From there, RecycleHealth was born.

RecycleHealth collects wearables from vendors, organizations, and individuals, and donates them to underserved populations for use in research studies, initiatives, and charity programs.  Lisa Gualtieri, founder and Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, is leading a research team studying the acceptability and use of wearables in different groups, including lower-income, older, veteran, developmentally disabled, or racial/ethnic minority populations. RecycleHealth's initiatives explore the benefits of integrating trackers into clinical care, such as having doctors "prescribe" these fitness devices to their patients. Additionally, RecycleHealth prides itself on finding wearables new homes with people who could really benefit from their use, but who would not normally be able to afford or seek to purchase one.

RecycleHealth believes in bringing health and fitness to all, in whatever ways possible. #ShareTheHealth
